The study found that the parrot has a corresponding level of intelligence of a child four years, according to Daily Mail.

The experiment was conducted with seven parrots, aged between seven and 25 years, a rescue center in Austria.

Sandra Mikolasch at the University of Vienna said that two different kinds of food, but equally preferred, were hidden in two opaque vessels.

Then one dish was empty, which was shown birds. Parrots were then put before the two vessels.

Most of the parrots were able to realize what is food dish.

Researchers say they saw birds in the vessel was taken food and have realized the vessel containing the food.

Previously, only monkeys had this ability in similar experiments.
