Fuel from the other two reactors at Fukushima could be melted. Japanese Fukushima nuclear power plant operator admitted on Tuesday that it is possible that the fuel rods in reactors 2 and 3 to have melted after the accident caused by an earthquake followed by tsunami in March.
.
"It may have occurred and melting inside the reactor 2 and 3, " said a spokesman for Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO), which announced last measures applied to analysis of Fukushima Daiichi plant.
"Most of the fuel fell, without doubt, the bottom of the tank under pressure, as has happened at reactor number one, " he said.
The spokesman said that the reactors are stable and their cooling operations are carried out normally.
For several weeks after the disaster of March 11, TEPCO and the Japanese government made reference to a partial melting, arguing that reactors are relatively stable and radioactive leaks are largely controlled dangerous.
The earthquake followed by a huge tsunami of March 11 caused the worst civil nuclear accident at Chernobyl registered after 1986.
